Dear
yogis, yoginis and friends,
I hope this e-mail finds you enjoying happy and healthy
summer days.
This year has been very busy for me and I feel very
blessed that everything I intended to do has been a great
success.
The Study Group on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, held at
the Iyengar Yoga Institute Maida Vale has been well
attended with more people interested. Our next meeting is
Sat 26th of July. You are all welcome!!!
In June we won't have a date but the Institute at Maida
Vale is holding a lecture and book signing led by Gitte
Bechgaard Ph.D entitled "Practice and Detachment: The Twin
Pillars of Yogic Wisdom"
Thursday 26th of June from 6:30 - 9pm
The cost for members and non-members is £15
Booking
opens soon, please see http://www.iyi.org.uk/
At the end of February, we had one of the most wonderful
and successful yoga holidays in North Goa.
18 people from as far afield as the UK, Hong Kong and
Singapore join our yoga holiday based at the Ashiyana
retreat centre in Mandrem.
Ashiyana is a lovely place with well equipped yoga shalas
just back from on one of the best beaches in Goa. We
practiced asanas for 2-3 hours in the morning and for 1
1/2 hours in the evening, with lazy afternoons spent
relaxing on the beach in between.
I was doing what I love in a place that we all enjoyed.
I hope you can join me next year, February 22nd
-March 1st 2015.
From the 3rd to the 9th of May I was teaching again in
Mexico, Cancun this time. This is the 6th year of our
Teachers Training course. I am very proud to say that
there are now more and more qualified Iyengar Yoga
teachers and Iyengar Yoga studios throughout Mexico.
In September, from the 2nd to the 9th we will be
going back to Crete where they have built a wonderful
yoga space fully equipped with ropes. There are some
adjustments to the arrangements for meals and to prices.
Do have a look at the web-site for more information.
Hope lots of you can make it!
There are still spaces available.

Iyengar
Yoga Holiday in Goa, India.
|
February 22nd - March 1st 2015
|
In Ashiyana Yoga
Retreat, which is located by the beautiful and unspoiled
Mandrem Beach in the very north of Goa.
Set amidst abundant
tropical flora and fauna, it has been designed as a
deeply nurturing space where you can relax your body,
calm your mind and awaken to your inner sense of being.
During
this yoga holiday we practice yoga twice a day. The
mornings (07.30 am – 9.30 am) are dynamic and active and
the afternoons (5 pm – 6:30 pm) more regenerative,
relaxing and include some Pranayama.
Yoga
equipment will be provided by the resort. There are 3
fully equipped yoga shalas in the grounds.
Two
beautiful meals will be served daily (breakfast and
dinner) with lunchtime free for you to go explore the
beach, swing in a hammock, take a dip in the pool, read
a book, go for a swim in the Arabian Sea, get a massage
or visit the neighbouring villages and take in some of
the exquisite Indian culture.
See www.ashiyana-yoga-goa.com for pictures and full range
of accommodation ranging from beach huts to more deluxe
rooms. We will be sharing the retreat centre with other
guests who are doing ‘drop-in’ classes and Ashiyana yoga
holidays with local teachers.
The price for
the week is £695 per person, sharing. £895 per single
accommodation.
