Dear yogis, yoginis and friends,

A very happy and healthy 2015!

Hope you all had a great time with family and friends during the last festivities and managed to squeeze some yoga in between meals.

Last year was very busy and fulfilling for me.

I feel very blessed that the two yoga holidays I taught were successful and I hope that all of you who attended had a good time.
The Study Group of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali held at the Iyengar Yoga Institute Maida Vale was also very well attended and I feel that we all learned lots from each other's comments and insights.
If there is interest to continue with our meetings in 2015, please drop me a line to let me know so I can make arrangements to use the IYI in Maida Vale.

Just when the weather in London starts to get too much to bear, I will be returning to Goa with some of you who have already booked your place.  I’m doing what I love to do in a place that we all liked.
Yoga, sun, sea!!!

In May I am going back to Mexico, Cancun this time, to continue with the Teacher Training. I am very proud to say that there are now more and more qualified Iyengar Yoga teachers throughout Mexico.
My London teacher Richard Ward will be teaching a couple of days to my Mexican students and to anyone else that can make it to Cancun. His dates are 15th and 16th May 2015.

In September, we will be going back to Crete where they have built a wonderful yoga space with all the yoga equipment and ropes. Peli has installed a new roof over the yoga shala, so we don't have to run from one to the other if rains.
David and Juliet have decided to retire and Peli will be taking care of us.

In October 2015 I will be going back to Mexico for the second Teacher Training. session. Again I will be delighted to have Jawahar teaching part of it.

The rest of the time I will continue with my classes in London. I am happy to inform you yhat I am now teaching another class at the Iyengar Yoga Institute Maida Vale on Mondays from 10am to 11:30

I hope to continue seeing you on your mat somewhere in the near future.

The sad news!

On 20th of  August  2014 Guruji Iyengar died.
He has left his mortal body, but his spirit and light remain present in all of us.
The last words in his book "Light on Life" reflect his generosity: "I have tried to share some of these lessons with you. I do pray that my ending will be your beginning. The great rewards and the countless blessings of a life spent following the Inward Journey await you."

Rest in peace  dear Guruji.

Iyengar Yoga Holiday in Goa, India.
***********Fully booked!!!*********

When you practice yoga in India it feels like the universe supports you! Goa is spiritual and fun. Ashiyana Yoga Retreat is a beautiful place, minutes away from the best beach in North Goa. Purify and cleanse with organic food and holistic therapies. Sleep in a comfortable bed and listen to the sound of the ocean. Stroll along white-sand beaches with swaying coconut palms. Shop at the famous Anjuna market. Sip chai at a beach shack  while the sun sets over the Arabian sea. Hire a scooter and explore colourful seaside villages, Portuguese mansions, Hindu temples and lush spice plantations.

The focus, of course, is Yoga - on and off the mat - to enhance your appreciation of all that is around you. We will practise yoga twice per day: the morning session  (7.30 am – 9.30 am) we will be practising most of the asanas to strengthen the body and the evening session (5 pm – 6:30 pm) we will practise recuperative asanas and pranayama to deepen the rest of you. We will have a yoga adventure in the mystical land of its birth and get to the spiritual heart of the practice.

Yoga equipment will be provided by the resort. There are three fully equipped yoga shalas in the grounds.

The price for the week is £695 per person, sharing or £895 for single accommodation, the same as last year!

Iyengar Yoga Teacher Training, Cancun, Mexico.

May 3rd - May 9th

This Teacher Training is mainly for people living in Mexico, however if you feel like going to Mexico to do your T.T. you will be more than welcome. We meet twice per year and you can join any time.
This year will be our fifth year, with Richard Ward teaching a couple of days.

Some students have already qualified so I am very proud to say that Mexico now has more Iyengar Yoga teachers.
We also have some students taking their assessments in February and March.
I would like to wish them lots of light and all the best for the exams.
